Winexpert LE 24

Besito

Available March 2025 – Reserve yours today!

Besito, Spanish for “little kiss”, is a vibrant blend of Macabeo and Moscatel (Muscat) with a little kiss of sweetness. Enticing citrus and white blossom aromas introduce a peachy palate woven with tropical fruit and citrus flavours. Subtle notes of honeysuckle and lemon zest round out this smooth and succulent wine.

Manchuela is an inland region with a continental climate, but vineyards here are 600-1000m above sea level; the altitude has a cooling effect and combines with fresh Mediterranean winds to moderate the hot summer days. This helps slow ripening, resulting in white grapes that produce fresh, fruity wines with good acidity.

This wine’s signature food pairing is chicken enchiladas but it’s also a great match for lemon butter grilled shrimp, or a szechuan stir-fry.

Varietal Macabeo

Macabeo is he second most popular white grape grown in Spain and is principal in white wines from Rioja. Macabeo is also found in the Languedoc region of Southern France. A versatile grape- Macabeo is fresh, floral and aroamtic when harvested young. Leave it on the wine a little longer and age in oak and it becomes rich and weighty.

Varietal Moscato

Moscato has perfumed aromas of orange, pear, sweet lemon, orange blossom, and honeysuckle. The unique feature of the Moscato grape is that it also retains its natural grapey character that most grapes lose during fermentation. This wonderful grapiness, lower alcohol and traditional residual sweetness make it a very gulpable wine.

Region Manchuela, Spain

Manchuela is framed by the Júcar and Cabriel rivers, whose sediments make up the limestone-based clay soils. Two large reservoirs to the north provide irrigation during the very dry growing season. Vineyards here are 600-1000m above sea level; the altitude has a cooling effect and combines with fresh Mediterranean winds to moderate the hot summer days. This helps slow ripening, resulting in white grapes that produce fresh, fruity wines with good acidity. Manchuela's red wines show excellent flavour, colour and mouthfeel.

Sweetness Off-Dry

Off-Dry wines like Gewurztraminer have minimal sweetness which is not perceived by the average wine drinker- while providing an easy drinking characteristic that people enjoy.

Body Medium

Great for food, medium bodied wines typically have alcohol levels below 14% and less oak.

Oak None

No oak is present as is the case for most whites, rosés and light, fruity reds.
