Fourtitude

An assertive blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Mataro, and Merlot that embodies Australia’s renowned bold and fruit-forward style. It opens with rich aromas of blackcurrant, cedar, and spice, while intense flavours of blackcurrant, plum, dark cherry, and spice unfold with hints of vanilla. Smooth tannins carry into a lingering finish.

Riverland is renowned as a powerhouse of Australian wine. It is home to many varietals, but Cabernet, Shiraz, and Merlot are the region’s most prominent reds; they thrive in the endless sunshine and low humidity, producing lush wines with rich texture and ample berry flavours.

This wine’s signature food pairing is braised leg of lamb but it’s also a great match for saucy ribs, or a Chocolate mousse.

Varietal Cabernet Blends

One of the reasons that Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the most widely planted grapes in the world is that it is a very versatile grape. Its strong characteristics make perfect for blending as it is easily complimented by other grape varieties. If you like Cabernet Sauvignon, you will enjoy this version of this classic grape!

Varietal Cabernet Sauvignon

The benchmark wine of France’s Bordeaux region and California, Cabernet contends as the greatest red wine of the world and is grown in almost every winemaking region on the planet. Cabernet typically features notes of black fruits, firm tannins and is often oaked. Each growing region typically has its own ‘interpretation’ of this impressive wine.

Varietal Merlot

Another classic grape from the Bordeaux region of France, Merlot is now the most widely planted red grape in the world! Merlot wines range from very approachable, young drinking, soft wines to big, dense block-busters. There is a place for Merlot in everyone’s wine rack!

Varietal Mourvèdre/Mataro

Known as Mourvèdre in "old world" growing regions and as Mataro is "new world" regions- Mourvèdre is grown in many regions of the world. It is a favourite in France and is found in classic Rhone blends. Mourvèdre is a prominent grape in popular "GSM" blends (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre) from France and Australia. Mourvèdre wines are known for their good fruit, high tannins, deep colour and big body. Wines featuring with Mourvèdre will pair well with any red meat dishes.

Varietal Shiraz

Due to the popularity of Australian wines this grape is now probably better known to most wine drinkers as Shiraz, however in France (its original home) and most growing regions of the world it is still known as Syrah. While largely a blending grape in the Rhone region wines of France, most other growing regions feature Shiraz on its own. Look for nice berry flavours with a lively spiciness- very enjoyable.

Region Riverland Region, Australia

Southern Australia’s picturesque wine region is located east of the Barossa Valley and extends for over 300km along the Murray River. This long-established region has more Chardonnay plantings than all the Southern wine growing regions combined in Australia. Chardonnay from this region is vibrant with ripe flavours and oak is often used to support the richness of the wines and add further complexity. Riverland’s continental climate, flat terrain and long hours of sunshine mean the vines receive consistent, quality sunlight, greatly reducing their chance of disease and ensuring fully ripe, flavourful fruit. The Riverland region is the largest producer of wine in all of Australia. The scenic region is located east of the Barossa Valley and extends along the Murray River for more than 300km. The hot, dry continental climate with endless sunshine and cool nights makes the region one of the most perfect places for growing grapes. With minimal rainfall in the region the Murray River provides much-needed water to the area’s vineyards to help irrigate the vines to ensure fully ripe and flavourful fruit. It a place that where citrus and stone fruit tress are abundant and where world class grapes are grown alongside the wildlife filled wetland and the mighty Murray River.

Sweetness Dry

Dry wines like Cabernet and Pinot Grigio have no perceptible amount of sweetness to the drinker and will often be detected as having a drying character in the mouth.

Body Full

The big wines that can stand on their own. Often premium wines with higher tannins, alcohol levels and oaking levels as they all factor in a bigger tasting wine.

Oak Heavy

Big reds like Cabernet and ultra premium wines will have higher levels of oak as it adds to the complexity and finish that wine drinkers expect.
