Varietal Gewürztraminer
Although not an easy grape to grow- it is definitely worth the effort. Gewürztraminer is unmistakable in its heady, aromatic intensity, with a fragrance of lychee, tropical fruit and even rose petals. A very unique off-dry wine that is very, very drinkable. It’s a perfect wine to enjoy with spicy dishes and is a treat with a simple snack like salted nuts or potato chips.
Region Germany
Germany is an ‘Old World’ growing region that is best known for it’s white wines which are more often off-dry to sweet. Riesling, Liebfraumilch and Gewürztraminer are well known German wines.
