Making Wine at Home

With just a little bit of equipment you too can become a winemaker! Enjoy the pleasures of the process and developing new skills with each batch. Making wine yourself—once you have the equipment—is the most affordable way to enjoy wine.

You’ll be able to specify if you’d like to make your wine at home and if you need the equipment after you select your wine from our wine list.

We're here for you, even if you make it at home!

At Wine Sense, we want everyone to have a fantastic experience with their wine, independent of if we make it or if you do. All of our wines are backed by a 100% satisfaction guarantee, no matter what. Our knowledgable staff are on hand to answer any questions you might have along the way. We’re here for you.

Required equipment

Making wine requires some basic equipment and supplies. We have starter kits that include the sanitizers you’ll need along with everything required for fermentation.

After 4-8 weeks your wine will be ready for bottling. We have a great selection of corks, bottles, bags, and corkers to keep the wine flowing.

Making wine

Making wine is as easy as following the basic instructions provided with each kit and keeping everything clean and sanitized. There are a few more steps than in-store wine making (adding the  yeast and bottling your wine), but it’s still pretty easy:

Step 1: Primary Fermentation

Step 2: Stabilizing/Degassing

Step 3: Clearing

Step 4: ClearingPolishing Racking/Aging

Step 5: Bottling

Learn something new and save some money too!

Still want to save money without becoming a winemaker? No problem—we'll make your wine for you!

Making wine yourself is a rewarding experience. We completely understand not wanting to make the investment of time, equipment, and space required for wine making and equipment storage though.

To solve this problem we have in-store wineries and offer our winery service to do the work for you. All you have to do is pour in the yeast to start your wine and bottle it when it’s ready to take it home.

Our expert and experienced winemakers will care for your wine as if it was their own.
